4 arrested for cheating people of lakhs by promising jobs

If you are looking for a job and you are being offered a job by using the name of a job portal and saying that you have been shortlisted, then be careful, because you can be the next victim of cyber thugs. The police team of the cyber police station of Central district has exposed one such gang of thugs, who used to offer jobs to innocent people by pretending to be associated with a well-known job portal. Later they used to extort money in the name of different charges.

In this case, the police have arrested four vicious criminals, who have been identified as Nikhil Tyagi, Ankur Sharma, varun bhandari and Suraj Kumar. All the four accused are residents of Baghpat in UP and Fazalpur and Shakarpur in Delhi. The police have arrested them from New Ashok nagar area of Delhi. The police have recovered two mobiles and two laptops from their possession.

Woman duped of lakhs of rupees

DCP M Harshvardhan said that the police had received an online complaint from the NCRP portal, in which a woman had told that she had received a call from an unknown number, in which it was told that he was calling from Naukri.com. The accused told the woman that her resume has been shortlisted in wipro company and for this she will have to pay a service charge of Rs 2500.

Initially, the woman refused to make any payment, but when she was told that this money was refundable, she paid the money. After this, she was given a fake interview and after this, on different occasions, Rs 1,25,150 were duped from her in the name of different charges.
