India demands action against terrorist Masood Azhar
india on friday demanded strict action from pakistan against Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) chief masood azhar after the news surdata-faced that he had recently given a speech at a public meeting in Bahawalpur. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir jaiswal said that if the news is true, then it has exposed Pakistan's 'double standards' in stopping terrorist activities.
jaiswal said, "We demand that strict action be taken against him (Azhar) and he be brought to justice. His presence in pakistan is being denied." He said, "If the reports are true, then it exposes Pakistan's double standards. masood azhar has been involved in cross-data-border terrorist attacks on india and we want strict action to be taken against him." jaiswal made this remark in response to a question at the weekly press conference.
Azhar is the mastermind of the Pulwama attack
masood azhar is also the head of Jaish-e-Mohammed and is notorious for plotting and promoting terrorist activities on behalf of Pakistan's intelligence wing Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). masood azhar has long been a terrorist representative of the Pakistani army and is also the mastermind of the 2019 Pulwama attack. He was declared a global terrorist by the country after the Pulwama attack.
Recent speech in Pakistan
india has maintained Azhar's presence in pakistan, which pakistan has always disputed, but his recent public speech in Bahawalpur in Pakistan's punjab province has once again highlighted that Azhar has the support of the ISI.
