ABVP protests in JNU against atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh
The akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) JNU unit on saturday (30 November) burnt effigies of Bangladeshi fundamentalist organizations in protest against the atrocities on Bangladeshi Hindus. During this, ABVP workers raised the demand for the safety of Bangladeshi minorities.
In bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina had to resign in august this year after the growing violent movement, after which she took refuge in India. ABVP says that after this incident, the interim government of bangladesh Muhammad Yunus was formed. Since the coming of this new government, a period of organized violence against Bangladeshi minorities started.
Activists of akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad informed the students that in the past few days, many religious places of Hindus have been targeted all over bangladesh, especially in the area of Chittagong. Also, instead of punishing Islamic fundamentalists, the bangladesh government and police are persecuting Hindus who protest peacefully.
What did the ABVP JNU unit president say?
On this occasion, ABVP JNU unit president Rajeshwarkant Dubey said, "We condemn the organized violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. It is the responsibility of the bangladesh government to ensure the safety of Hindus and their religious places." ABVP JNU unit minister Shikha Swaraj said, "Relations between india and bangladesh have always been good, but for the past few months we are seeing a fundamentalist mindset growing there, which is targeting Hindus and other minority communities there. This is completely intolerable, we demand from the bangladesh government that it should take appropriate action against all the culprits as soon as possible and ensure the safety of minorities."
