Kedarnath voters voted by-election with more eagerness
Today kedarnath assembly seat polling booth was filled with people to cast their vote from morning. Polling parties were dispatched on tuesday (November 19) for the voting to be held on wednesday (November 20). Strict security arrangements have been made to maintain peace during the polling. Rudraprayag SP Akshay Prahlad Konde said that more than 1200 policemen have been deployed to conduct the by-election peacefully. Apart from this, home Guard and Central Armed police Force (CAPF) personnel are also engaged in security arrangements. The SP said that security is tight in the entire area and every possible step has been taken to ensure smooth conduct of the polling process.
Meanwhile planning has been done at many levels to ensure security at polling stations. Special attention is being paid to sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling stations. Additional police force has been deployed at these centers. At the same time, CCTV and other surveillance equipment are also being used to ensure peaceful voting. SP Rudraprayag said that the election campaign ended peacefully. All political parties and candidates campaigned following the guidelines of the election Commission. Now all eyes are on the voting process and the counting of votes on saturday (November 23).
Moreover many polling stations in kedarnath assembly constituency are located in remote areas. Special arrangements were made to deliver polling parties on time in these areas. Polling parties and EVMs were safely transported with the help of helicopters and other means of transport. The administration ensured that all polling parties reach their designated centers on time.
