Why Eknath faction field a candidate against Raj's son?
Maharashtra's Mahim assembly seat is in a lot of discussions. raj Thackeray's son amit thackeray is in the electoral fray on this seat, while Eknath Shinde's party of Mahayuti has also fielded its candidate from here. Meanwhile, deputy chief minister devendra fadnavis said on wednesday (October 23) that bjp still wants to give its support to MNS chief raj Thackeray's son amit thackeray on the Mahim assembly seat.
In Nagpur, maharashtra deputy chief minister devendra fadnavis said, "The chief minister also wanted us not to field any candidate against (Amit Thackeray), but there were some difficulties in this because many leaders believed that if they did not field a candidate, the votes could go to shiv sena (UBT). Therefore, we fielded sada Sarvankar. BJP's stand is clear that we should support amit Thackeray." He also said, "When we (Mahayuti leaders) meet, we will discuss and try to find a solution. However, every major political party in maharashtra is facing the challenge of rebels in the assembly elections."
shiv sena fielded a candidate from Mahim
Actually, raj Thackeray's maharashtra navnirman sena (MNS) is not a part of the Mahayuti, but in the lok sabha elections held earlier this year, there was an agreement to support MNS candidate amit thackeray, who contested for the first time from Mahim assembly constituency. However, Eknath Shinde's shiv sena has fielded the current mla sada Sarvankar from here.
shiv sena fielded a candidate because
The leaders of Shinde-led shiv sena have argued behind this that if the party does not contest the elections, then its dedicated voters will go towards uddhav Thackeray-led shiv sena (UBT).
bjp ready to support
devendra fadnavis said that bjp is ready to support amit and is still firm on its stand. Apart from this, the deputy cm also said that his party will try to convince most of its rebels to withdraw their nominations, but he said that there will be friendly contest on some seats in the state elections to be held on november 20.
