Who is the big brother in Maharashtra?
The tussle over seat sharing is still going on in the opposition alliance Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra. On wednesday (23 October), to show everything is fine in MVA, seats were divided between congress, uddhav Thackeray's shiv sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar's ncp (SP) as if some property was being divided. All three announced to contest on 85-85 seats equally. But the real fight is now for 15 seats. It will be decided in these 15 seats that who will play the role of big brother in shiv sena UBT and Congress. In fact, the tussle over seat sharing in MVA had started right after the lok sabha election results.
congress surprised everyone by winning the maximum number of seats in the state and claimed to contest on the maximum number of seats in the assembly elections. uddhav Thackeray's party did not seem to agree to this. shiv sena UBT has claimed more than 100 seats. Both shiv sena UBT and congress want to become the big brother. On wednesday, rajya sabha MP sanjay raut said that the country always wants shiv sena to score a century and we have the value of scoring a century.
Sharad Pawar's power remains intact in the fight between the two. There has been talk since the beginning of the election that Pawar's party can get 80 to 90 seats and it has already got 85 seats. It is believed that ncp (SP) will also get some seats out of the 15 seats.
Sharad Pawar's meeting at YB Chavan Center till late
Interestingly, sharad pawar himself got the agreement between congress and shiv sena (UBT) regarding seats on Wednesday. After a day-long meeting, Pawar left Vasantrao Chavan Center at around 12:30 in the night. After Sharad Pawar's approval, sanjay raut, Nana Patole and Jayant Patil held a press conference and announced the 85-85 formula. The tussle between congress and shiv sena UBT is the main reason why the final formula could not be finalized even after 9 days of the announcement of elections. There are 288 assembly seats in the state. Out of these, there is a consensus between the three parties on 255 seats. It has been decided to give 18 seats to the allies Samajwadi party, AAP, Left and PWP. These parties are also angry due to the delay. Political experts believe that only three parties want to keep the smaller parties in a dilemma for the time being.
