The politics of delhi has heated up over the 2024-25 budget of Delhi. bjp has raised questions on the policies of the aam aadmi party government. bjp state president Virendra Sachdeva said that for the last ten years the AAP government has been making false claims. By claiming surplus budget, the government kept bringing new schemes without developing economic resources. He claimed that madan Lal Khurana's government had given the first surplus budget to Delhi.

Virendra Sachdeva said that this is the result of the economic mismanagement of the delhi government. He said that all the surplus budgets were presented till 2022-23 on the strong foundation of the madan Lal Khurana government. But today delhi does not have money to fulfill the ongoing schemes. The 2024-25 budget has become a deficit for the first time in the history of Delhi. The government does not have liquid funds to complete the budget plans of 2024-25. The financial situation can be gauged from the fact that the government may not be able to pay salaries to employees from december 2024.

delhi government's treasury is getting empty

Sachdeva said that often budget deficit occurs when revenue is less than expenditure. But the revenue of delhi government is increasing year after year. Despite increasing revenue, the main reason for the government going into budget deficit is implementing schemes without raising financial resources. Today, delhi needs Rs 7000 crore for power subsidy, transport department, irrigation department, hospitals under construction, metro, court complex and court salary expenditure increase etc. But the delhi government does not have a single penny.
