Bus carrying ITBP personnel overturned on Rishikesh
A tragic accident took place on Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway (NH 94) yesterday (5 October). A bus full of ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) personnel lost control and overturned near Tachila. In this accident, 7 out of 39 personnel on the bus were injured. Relief and rescue operations are going on at a fast pace at the spot and medical assistance was provided to the injured immediately.
This ITBP bus was going from rishikesh to Chamba when suddenly the driver lost control of the bus near Tachila. The bus overturned on the road and 7 out of 39 personnel on board were injured. The relief and rescue team that reached the spot immediately started action and the injured were taken to nearby Fokt Hospital, CSC Khadi and narendra Nagar Medical Centers with the help of 108 ambulance service. However, other soldiers were given first aid on the spot and their condition is said to be normal.
Relief and rescue operations continue
Immediately after the accident, local police and disaster management teams reached the spot. Ambulance service was used to take the injured to the hospital as soon as possible. The relief rescue team provided first aid to the injured and started the work of removing the crashed bus. At the same time, eyewitnesses present on the spot said that the bus suddenly overturned on the road, due to which all the soldiers did not get a chance to escape.
Causes of the accident will be investigated
The administration is saying that the main reason for the bus crash could be the driver losing control. There are many turns in this part of the highway, which are considered vulnerable to accidents. However, investigation is going on to find out the exact causes of the accident. It is also being seen whether the weather or road conditions played any role in this accident. The local administration immediately conducted relief operations and provided all possible assistance to help the injured soldiers. Taking this incident seriously, the officials have said that road safety measures will be further strengthened in this area so that such accidents do not happen in future.
