BJP Slams Congress-NC Alliance In J&K After Pakistan Minister's Article 370 Rant
The bharatiya janata party (BJP) has criticized the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance in kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">jammu and kashmir following comments made by Pakistani Defence minister Khawaja Asif, who expressed support for their stance on the restoration of Article 370. Asif stated that the alliance is data-aligned with pakistan regarding J&K’s special status, sparking controversy amid the ongoing assembly elections in the Union Territory.
In response, bjp leaders, including amit Malviya, questioned why congress and its leader Rahul gandhi are perceived as siding with those opposed to India's interests. Malviya highlighted that Asif’s remarks illustrate a troubling connection between the alliance and pakistan, a country labeled as a terrorist state by the BJP.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla reinforced the party's stance, suggesting that the alliance's position reveals their data-alignment with anti-India sentiments, particularly in light of previous military actions against terrorism in the region.
The assembly elections are the first since the revocation of J&K’s special status in 2019, with results set to be announced on october 8.

Former chief minister Farooq Abdullah emphadata-sized its significance, stating, “It is the heartbeat of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. article 370 and 35A will be restored.”
Omar Abdullah, also a former cm, expressed optimism about the potential for change, referencing the judicial system: “If a five-judge Constitution bench has ruled against article 370, isn’t it possible for a seven-judge bench to rule in its favor?” His remarks reflect a belief in the possibility of judicial reconsideration.
Since the abrogation of article 370 on august 5, 2019, which led to the bifurcation of kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">jammu and kashmir into two Union Territories, there have been repeated assurances from the government regarding the restoration of statehood for J&K. Recently, Union home minister amit shah reiterated this commitment during a rally in Doda, asserting that statehood would be restored post-elections.
