Jamaat leaders are contesting elections on about 14 seats in the valley. Dr. Kalimullah, son of the former chief of Jamaat, is contesting from Kupwara. Dr. Talat is contesting elections from Pulwama. Another member is contesting elections from Kulgam. He is the one whose house has also been raided by NIA.

Jamaat banned, its leaders in the electoral fray

Let us tell you that the government of india has banned Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir. While imposing the ban, the government had said that it promotes separatism and now its leaders are becoming a part of India's democratic festival.

47 cases are registered against Jamaat
