The buzz about the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections in mumbai has intensified. This buzz intensified when the BMC Commissioner called an all-party meeting. This meeting is going to be held today. This meeting is being organized regarding seat delimitation and elections. All political parties are participating in this meeting. Representatives of bjp, Shiv Sena-UBT, NCP, shiv sena and Samajwadi party are participating in the meeting being held today (August 16). Let us tell you that Shiv Sena-UBT has been demanding to conduct BMC elections for a long time. It has also targeted the ruling party many times over the delay in this.

The BMC elections were expected to be held in 2022 but it could not happen. At the same time, before the lok sabha elections this year, it was expected that elections would be announced here but it did not happen.

mumbai Mahanagar Palika is the richest municipality in the country. shiv sena has been in control of it for the last 25 years. However, shiv sena has also split. The total number of seats in the municipality is 227 and in 2017, shiv sena alone got 84 seats while bjp has 82 members. congress had won 31 seats in this election.


Shiv Sena-UBT had demanded elections

On the other hand, after the lok sabha and Legislative Council elections, Shiv Sena-UBT leader Aditya thackeray had demanded the holding of BMC elections. Aditya had said that there are no councilors in the metropolis for more than two years and the posts of 15 city ward officers are also lying vacant. Apart from BMC, the elections of thane and pune Municipal Corporations are also pending for two years. It is said that there will be nine new wards in BMC. Of these, three will be in urban area, three in western suburb area and three in eastern suburb area.
