Kamala harris Promises 'Reproductive Freedoms' In US If She Becomes President:
Democrat presidential nominee and current Vice President Kamala harris on friday promised “reproductive freedoms” in the united states when she assumes office. “As President, when congress passes a law to restore reproductive freedoms, I will sign it into law,” Kamala said in an X post.Earlier in the day, Harris’s surprise bid against Republican rival donald trump gained support from former US President barack obama and his wife Michelle.
“We called to say Michelle (wife) and I couldn’t be prouder to endorse you and to do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval office,” obama told harris in a short video showing a phone call between the two.
“I am proud of you. This is going to be historic,” the former first lady told Harris. Talking into a cell phone and cracking a few smiles, harris expressed her gratitude for the endorsement and their long friendship. “Thank you both. It means so much. And we’re gonna have some fun with this too,” harris said.
US President Joe Biden on sunday ended his reelection campaign and backed Harris’ candidature for the President. He said in a letter posted on X that he would remain in office until the end of his term and address the country later this week on his decision.
“And while it has been my intention to see reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” he stated.
