Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav has allocated 6,362 crore for a railway project in tamil Nadu.


Union Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that 6 thousand 362 crore rupees have been allocated in the budget for railway projects in tamil Nadu. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for the current financial year yesterday. In this, Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav explained to the media yesterday about the plans for the railway sector through a video presentation. At that time, he said that 2 lakh 65,200 crore rupees had been allocated for the railway department in the budget. He also mentioned that Rs 1 lakh 9000 crore has been allocated for railway and passenger safety.


In this, he said that Rs 6 thousand 80 crores were allocated for the implementation of railway projects in tamil Nadu last year, but this financial year it has been increased to Rs 6 thousand 362 crores. He also said that currently 22 projects for construction of new roads for a distance of 2 thousand 587 kilometers worth 33 thousand 467 crore rupees are being carried out in tamil Nadu.He alleged that the state government had written to them to abandon the project between Rameswaram and Dhanushkodi in tamil Nadu citing environmental reasons and non-cooperation in land acquisition.


Union minister Ashwini Vaishnav has criticized the state government for not showing interest while the central government is acting impartially and trying to implement the announced schemes. Speaking to reporters in chennai, Southern Railway General Manager RN Singh said that 77 railway stations in tamil Nadu including Chennai Beach, Egmore, Park, Chengalpattu, Guduvancheri, Guindy, Parangimalai are to be upgraded under the Amrit Railway Stations project. He informed that it has been decided to shift the 4th terminal in chennai from Villivakkam to Perampur. RN Singh said that the work of constructing a road from Perambur to Ambattur is going to be startedand the work to send the project report in october is going on fast. The General Manager of Southern Railway said that 40 new railway flyovers are to be constructed in tamil Nadu and if the tamil Nadu government acquires the land, they are ready to complete the work quickly.


He informed that the construction work of Tambaram, Chennai's 3rd Railway Terminal, is scheduled to start in june next year and the Railway Department has decided to implement this project with private participation as a terminal with commercial premises.RN Singh also said that the work of the 4th rail line from chennai coast to Egmore will be completed in September and the trains will run in October. He said that the construction of the new railway station would start once the tamil Nadu government completes the land acquisition work for the construction of Klambakkam railway station. The General Manager of Southern Railway also said that Clambakkam railway station will become operational in march next year.
