Any election in the country is not possible without the participation of indian security forces. The indian air Force (IAF) played an important role in the recently concluded lok sabha elections. Whether it is to increase the reach of the election commission in remote areas or to deliver EVMs. The air Force personnel performed their responsibility very well.

Air Force aircraft conducted 1,750 flights in more than 1,000 hours. The indian air Force on wednesday shared information about the help provided to the election machinery in the conduct of the lok sabha elections. The air Force said in a statement, "Substantial use of medium helicopters (MI-17 type), light helicopters (Chetak) and indigenously built advanced light helicopters (ALH Dhruv) was made in the last few months during the General elections 2024." Officials said that the force has been actively involved in the task of bringing Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) by air route and deploying election commission of india (ECI) personnel on election duty. As was done during the last general or assembly elections.

He said that during the 2024 general elections, the indian air Force played an important role in increasing the reach of the election commission in remote areas of the country and in those places where there were concerns about movement by road. The task was time-bound as polling officers had to be posted at each remote polling station two days before the election dates and relieved on the day of polling.The IAF played a vital role in five of the seven phases of the general elections and flew 1,750 sorties over 1,000 hours, the IAF said.
