Officials said that the force has been actively involved in the task of bringing Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) by air route and deploying election commission of india (ECI) personnel on election duty. As was done during the last general or assembly elections.He said that during the 2024 general elections, the indian air Force played an important role in increasing the reach of the election commission in remote areas of the country and in those places where there were concerns about movement by road. The task was time-bound as polling officers had to be posted at each remote polling station two days before the election dates and relieved on the day of polling.The IAF played a vital role in five of the seven phases of the general elections and flew 1,750 sorties over 1,000 hours, the IAF said.
