Kuwait's southern Mangaf was shaken on wednesday when a massive fire suddenly broke out in a building. 41 people died in this accident. Out of which 40 are said to be Indians. The indian Embassy in kuwait said that 30 indians have also been injured in this fire incident. According to local media, home minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf Al-Sabah visited the site of the incident and confirmed the death toll. The owner of the building has been ordered to be arrested.

According to officials, the building in which the accident took place was a 6-storey building. The fire started in the kitchen on the ground floor, but after a while the fire took such a terrible form that it engulfed the entire building. It is being told that more than 160 people lived in this building, who worked in a company. Before they could understand anything, the fire spread to every room of the building.

Helpline number released

The indian Embassy in kuwait has released a helpline number regarding this incident. The embassy said that in connection with the tragic incident of fire involving indian workers, we have started the emergency helpline number +965-65505246. Everyone is requested to connect to this helpline for updates. We are committed to providing all possible assistance.'

PM Modi expressed grief

PM Modi has also expressed grief over this incident by posting on X. He said, 'My condolences are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured people will recover as soon as possible. The indian Embassy in kuwait is closely monitoring the situation and working with the authorities there to assist the injured.'

What did the Foreign minister say?

Foreign minister S jaishankar posted on X, 'Deeply shocked by the news of the fire incident in kuwait City. Reportedly more than 40 people have died and more than 50 are hospitalised. Our Ambassador has visited the site. We await further information.'

He further said, "Deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. I wish the injured a speedy and complete recovery. Our embassy will provide full assistance to all the people in this regard.'

The kuwait government has not yet given official information openly that most of the dead are Indians. Like other countries in the Persian Gulf, a large number of migrant workers work in kuwait, whose number is much more than the local population. Earlier in 2022, 4 people died in a fire at an oil refinery in Kuwait.
