He was pitted against Congress's big candidate Kanhaiya Kumar. However, manoj tiwari defeated Kanhaiya Kumar.

Manoj Tiwari defeated Congress' Kanhaiya Kumar by a margin of 1 lakh 38 thousand 778 votes

Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua' failed

Bhojpuri star Dinesh Lal Yadav contested from UP's Azamgarh seat on a bjp ticket. Nirahua was defeated by Samajwadi party candidate dharmendra Yadav on the Azamgarh seat. SP candidate dharmendra Yadav defeated bjp candidate Nirahua by 1 lakh 61 thousand votes.

Dharmendra Yadav got 5 lakh 8 thousand 239 votes.

Dinesh Lal Yadav alias Nirahua got 3 lakh 47 thousand 204 votes.
