The trend of decline in the indian stock market continues and the stock market closed on a decline for the fifth consecutive day. In today's trading, apart from bank and media shares, all other sectoral indices closed with a decline. Metal stocks fell by more than 3 percent and IT stocks closed down by 2.19 percent. Nifty's healthcare index closed down by 1.85 percent and pharma index closed down by 1.81 percent.

At what level did the market close today

At the time of market closing, BSE's Sensex closed at 73,885 with a decline of 617.30 points or 0.83 percent. On the other hand, NSE's Nifty closed at 22,488 with a decline of 216 points or 0.95 percent.

BSE's market capitalization decreased

BSE's market capitalization has come down to Rs 411.21 lakh crore and this week itself it had also reached a high of Rs 421 lakh crore. In this way, within a week's time, it has decreased by more than Rs 10 lakh crore. At the time of closing today on BSE, 3917 shares were traded, out of which 1213 shares closed with a gain while 2597 shares closed with a decline. 107 shares closed without any change like Wednesday's closing. 218 shares were under upper circuit while 305 shares closed with lower circuit.

The red of decline dominates the Sensex

Only 7 out of 30 shares in BSE Sensex were able to close with gains while 23 shares had to be satisfied with closing in decline. icici bank was the top gainer and rose 1.14 percent while Axis bank closed 1 percent higher. Shares of hdfc bank, SBI, L&T, mahindra BANK' target='_blank' title='kotak mahindra bank-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">kotak mahindra bank and Bharti airtel closed in the green with gains.

Tata Steel closed with the highest decline of 5.74% in the Sensex and Titan also fell by 3.17%. Tech mahindra closed down by 3.15% and wipro closed down by 3.09%. Bajaj Finserv closed down by 2.91% and Bajaj Finance closed down by 2.86%.
