The Ajit Pawar-led nationalist congress party has announced the candidature of Shivajirao Nalawade from the mumbai teachers constituency for the biennial elections to the maharashtra Legislative Council next month. elections for three constituencies - mumbai teachers, Konkan Graduates and Nashik teachers - will be held on june 26. The term of the current members is due to end on July 7.

Shiv Sena (UBT) has announced the candidature of Anil Parab from mumbai Graduates and JM Abhyankar from mumbai teachers seats. raj Thackeray-led maharashtra navnirman sena has declared Abhijit Panse as its candidate from the Konkan Graduates constituency. The last date for filing nominations is june 7.

Shiv Sena (UBT) on saturday declared Anil Parab and JM Abhyankar as its candidates for the biennial elections to the maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC). Parab has been nominated from the mumbai Graduates constituency, while Abhyankar has been fielded from the mumbai teachers constituency.

Parab is a sitting MLC and former state transport minister in the maha Vikas Aghadi government led by shiv sena UBT chief uddhav Thackeray. Considered close to thackeray, Parab was also the guardian minister of Ratnagiri district during the tenure of the MVA government. Parab was first elected to the Legislative Council in 2012 and then re-elected in 2018.

Abhyankar, the second candidate of shiv sena (UBT), is the divisional president of the teachers wing of the party. Abhyankar has also been the vice-president of the maharashtra State Minority Commission and chairman of the maharashtra State Scheduled Castes and Tribes Commission. The election commission (EC) on friday announced that elections for four MLC constituencies will be held on june 26 and the counting of votes will take place on July 1.
