The maharashtra government has requested the election commission to relax the code of conduct in the state citing the drought in Maharashtra. In view of the drought situation in maharashtra, the state government has requested the election commission to relax the code of conduct applicable in the state in view of the lok sabha elections for immediate help and relief plan. This information has been given by Additional Chief Secretary of the Chief Minister's office, Iqbal Singh Chahal.

This meeting will be held today at 3 pm in the office of the Divisional Commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. In this meeting, the situation of drought affected Marathwada and the water problem will be discussed. Planning will be done to provide immediate help. There will also be a discussion about supplying fodder to the animals.


Maharashtra congress President's appeal

Maharashtra Pradesh congress Committee (MPCC) President Nana Patole has asked the Eknath Shinde government to focus its attention on mitigating drought after the completion of lok sabha elections in the state. Pointing out the dire situation in the drought-hit areas, Patole urged the election commission of india (ECI) and the Mahayuti government to initiate immediate relief measures including relaxation of the code of conduct and provision of drinking water and fodder for citizens and animals in the affected areas.
