'To someone...', bombay High Court's big decision...

Bombay High Court's decision has come on the petition filed against changing the names of two districts of Maharashtra. The court has given big relief to the state government in its order. Let us tell you that today the court has given its verdict on the renaming dispute of aurangabad and Osmanabad. The local citizens had challenged the decision of the central government and the State government through a petition, which was rejected by the court. The high court said that there is no harm to anyone due to the decision taken by the state government to change the names of cities. Let us tell you that the bombay high court had reserved the decision on this petition in the month of October, which has been given today.

A division bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Arif doctor said that "the notification issued by the state government does not require any interference." The bench said, "We have no hesitation in holding that there is no illegality or any legal flaw in the notification of the state government changing the names of aurangabad and Osmanabad."

The high court said that "there is no merit in the petitions and hence they are dismissed." In 2022, the maharashtra cabinet headed by chief minister Eknath Shinde had approved changing the name of aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Osmanabad to Dharashiv. On July 16, 2022, the two-member cabinet passed a government resolution to change the name and then sent it to the central government.

In february 2023, the Union home Ministry gave no objection letter to change the names of cities and districts and after that the state government issued a gazette notification to change the names of aurangabad and Osmanabad.
