Especially the elderly and children have been severely affected by power cuts.Ramadas said that tamil Nadu's demand for electricity is increasing day by day, and the tamil Nadu government's failure to provide electricity to the people is reprehensible.

In this regard, BAMA founder Ramadoss issued a statement: In tamil Nadu, except for chennai and suburban districts, unannounced power cuts are being implemented in the rest of the districts. As the electricity demand of tamil Nadu is increasing day by day, it is reprehensible that the tamil Nadu government has not taken steps to provide electricity to the people accordingly.

Daily in the districts including Iranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Tirunelveli, Thenkasi, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Sivagangai, Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Thanjavur, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Trichy, Karur, Mayiladuthurai, Salem, Namakkal, Erode. There have been reports of unannounced power cuts of between one hour and four hours.

Apart from the unannounced power cuts, people are also suffering due to low voltage and unable to run air conditioners and fans in their homes. people suffer from sleeplessness due to power outages and power cuts. Especially the elderly and children have been severely affected by power cuts.

Tamil Nadu's electricity demand is increasing day by day and has reached the level of 21 thousand MW. electricity officials have said that despite purchasing electricity from central power plants and private power generation companies, there is a shortage of 300 to 400 megawatts of electricity every day, and power cuts are being implemented to deal with it. This shows that tamil Nadu government and electricity Board have failed in providing electricity to the people.

It is a well-known fact that tamil Nadu's electricity demand increases during summer. Accordingly, the tamil Nadu electricity Board should have entered into contracts for purchase of electricity from private and government companies. But the tamil Nadu government and the electricity Board have failed to perform even this basic duty. The maximum power demand in tamil Nadu as of yesterday is 19693 MW. In this, tamil Nadu electricity Board's own power generation is only 4332 MW. Only one-fifth of tamil Nadu's total power requirement is generated by the tamil Nadu government. If the same situation continues, tamil Nadu will not be able to become self-sufficient in electricity production. Power cuts in tamil Nadu will continue as an ongoing story.

In tamil Nadu, 17,340 MW of thermal power projects have been developed and have been shelved for 17 years. 5,700 MW projects have been started since 2014 and are pending at various stages. As these projects are about to complete a decade, only the 800 MW power project was commissioned a few weeks ago. However, due to various reasons, not even a single megawatt of electricity has been produced.

The tamil Nadu government had announced that it would implement 17,970 MW thermal power projects in tamil Nadu in the next 10 years. But, no progress has been made even in that. All the pending power projects should be implemented expeditiously and included in the power package for tamil Nadu. Ramadoss has urged that the tamil Nadu government should take action to prevent power cuts in tamil Nadu.
