Fight to become mla for the third consecutive time…

Rajinder Rana is fighting to become mla for the third consecutive time. Rajinder Rana became mla for the first time in the year 2012. He left prem Kumar Dhumal and contested the elections as an independent candidate and won. In the year 2014, Rajinder Rana contested the elections against Anurag Thakur, son of his political mentor prem Kumar Dhumal, but lost. In 2014, before contesting elections on congress ticket, he had to resign from the post of independent MLA.

On one hand, Rajinder Rana lost the mp election and on the other hand, he also lost his membership in the Assembly. Rajinder Rana's wife Anita Rana contested the Sujanpur assembly by-election in 2014 and she too was defeated by BJP's narendra Thakur in the Modi wave. After this, Rajinder Rana contested the 2017 elections on congress ticket. bjp sent prem Kumar Dhumal to Sujanpur to contest elections from Hamirpur.

Prem Kumar Dhumal failed to win the election due to change of seat three weeks before the election date. Rajinder Rana became a well-known data-face even at the national level. Rajinder Rana won the 2022 elections by contesting again on congress ticket. Rajinder Rana defeated Ranjit Singh Rana in the election. After the victory, he was expected to get a place in the cabinet, but it did not happen. Gradually Rana became disillusioned and got an opportunity to voice his opposition in the rajya sabha elections.

He spoiled the game of the official congress candidate by cross-voting in the rajya sabha elections. Along with him, five other congress MLAs and three independent MLAs also voted against the Congress. Along with Rajinder Rana, five other MLAs also lost their membership due to whip violation. Later, all the three former MLAs joined bjp and now all are candidates of bjp in the by-elections.
