BJP's Silence: Strategy or Stagnation?

Sindujaa D N

The silence surrounding BJP's ap Chief, Purandeswari, has raised eyebrows and led to criticism within the party. Despite holding a prominent position, Purandeshwari's focus seems limited to the constituency where she is contesting, leading some to dub her approach as "Puram Deswari."

Critics argue that as the party chief, Purandeshwari should be actively involved in touring the entire state or, at the very least, identifying and supporting weak leaders in various constituencies. However, her lack of engagement beyond her own contesting area has drawn ire from party members. Even basic forms of communication, such as video or teleconferencing with constituency leaders, have been notably absent.

This passive approach has led to concerns about the party's overall strategy and effectiveness. Some bjp leaders have expressed their dissatisfaction off the record, pointing out that Purandeshwari's disengagement is detrimental to the party's prospects. While campaigning appears to be robust in certainkey constituencies like rajahmundry and Anakapalli parliamentary seats, vijayawada West, and Visakhapatnam, it is lacking in others.

The reluctance of Purandeshwari to actively engage in campaigning beyond her own constituency has left many party members disillusioned and has raised questions about the BJP's campaign momentum in several constituencies. Critics argue that her narrow focus and lack of enthusiasm to support other candidates, even within the alliance, are contributing to the party's lackluster performance in various regions.
