Former maharashtra congress minister Arif Naseem Khan has expressed displeasure with the party high command over the absence of Muslim candidates in the state in the lok sabha elections. Senior maharashtra congress leader Arif Naseem Khan has written a letter to congress National President mallikarjun Kharge and expressed dissatisfaction over not fielding Muslim candidates in the state. He al that congress wants Muslim votes but not Muslim candidates.

In an open letter, Arif Naseem Khan, extremely angry over not giving a single Muslim candidate for 48 lok sabha seats in maharashtra, has resigned from the lok sabha Campaign Committee. Apart from this, it has been decided not to campaign for the party in the third, fourth and fifth phases of lok sabha elections.

Senior maharashtra congress leader Arif Naseem Khan wrote to party president mallikarjun Kharge, "I would like to thank you for including my name in the list of star campaigners for the fourth phase of maharashtra lok sabha elections. I would like to inform you that I will not campaign for party candidates for the third, fourth and fifth phases in Maharashtra.

'Congress needs Muslim votes, why not the candidates?'

Explaining the reasons behind not campaigning, senior congress leader Arif Naseem Khan further wrote, "Out of the total 48 lok sabha seats in maharashtra, M.V.A. Has not fielded a single Muslim candidate. Many Muslim organizations, leaders and party workers from all over maharashtra were expecting that congress would nominate at least 1 candidate but unfortunately, congress has not nominated even a single Muslim candidate. Now they are asking that congress needs Muslim votes, why not the candidates?
