BJP won the lok sabha elections; First victory in Gujarat!!!

Even before the polling of the lok sabha elections was over, the counting was over and the results were announced, the bjp secured victory in one seat and bagged one seat. chief minister Bhupendra patel said that the bharatiya janata party has won its first victory from the surat constituency in Gujarat. This victory was made possible after the nomination of the congress candidate, the main opposition party was rejected and other candidates withdrew their nominations. "Heartiest congratulations and best wishes for the unanimous election of surat lok sabha seat candidate mukesh Bhai Dalal," the gujarat chief minister said in an ex-post.

Rejection of nominations

Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani's candidature for the surat lok sabha seat was canceled after the signatures on the nomination papers by the proponents were found to be forged. The returning officers also rejected the nomination of an alternate congress candidate, suresh Padsala, for the same reason. With that, the main opposition congress was left without representation in this seat. On the last day of withdrawal of nominations, a total of 8 candidates along with Bahujan Samaj party (BSP)'s Pyarelal Bharti withdrew their nominations.

Returning Officer (RVO) Saurabh Pardhi revealed that the nomination of congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani was rejected as the preliminary examination showed irregularities in the signatures of the proponents in the nomination papers. election nomination rules require a voter from a constituency to propose the candidature of a candidate endorsed by a recognized political party. But whether the candidate is independent or nominated by an unrecognized political party, ten voters of the constituency must sign the nomination paper as proponents.

The congress has said that it will go to court over the rejection of the nomination of its party's candidate in the surat constituency in Gujarat. As part of the 2024 general elections, polling for other seats in gujarat will be held on May 7. The results will be declared on june 4.
