“Apart from coastal districts, northern interior districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall. Belagavi, Bagalkot, Dharwad, Cuttack, Kalaburki, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, and Yadgiri will receive moderate rain. Similarly, South Interior districts like Bellary, Bengaluru, Samarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Thavangare, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysore, Ramanagara and Tumkur are expected to receive light rain, the Meteorological Department has predicted.

Hassan, Vijayanagar, Tumkur, Shimoga, Ramanagara, Mysore, Mandya, Kolar, and Kodagu districts will receive heavy rain till the 19th. On the same day, heavy rain is also predicted at Dakshina Kannada, Belagavi, Dharwad, Cuttack, Haveri, Vijayapur, Bellary, Chitradurga and Davangere.

As the weather forecast extends till april 20, heavy rain is expected in Samarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Thavangare, Vijayanagar, Tumkur, Shimoga, Mysore, Mandya, Kolar and Hassan. However, coastal districts are unlikely to receive heavy rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has advised residents and officials in the affected areas to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the heavy rains.
