These special trains have been announced to ensure safe travel without crowding so that people can go to their hometowns to cast their votes.Accordingly, the special train departing from tambaram near chennai at 4.45 pm on the 18th and 20th will reach Kanyakumari at 4.40 am the next day. The special train will leave Kanyakumari at 8.30 pm on the 19th and 21st in the opposite direction and reach tambaram at 9.20 am the next day. These special trains will pass through tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Trichy, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli, Valliyur, Nagercoil. Likewise, the special train will depart from chennai Egmore railway station at 4.25 pm on 18th and 20th and reach coimbatore at 8.20 am the next day. The special train departing from coimbatore at 8.40 pm on the 19th and 21st in the opposite direction will reach chennai Egmore at 10.05 am the next day. These special trains will pass through chennai Egmore, tambaram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur, Trichy, Dindigul, and Palani.
