Social Responsibility with Natural Disaster…

Conversion of flood-affected districts into drought-affected areas is a natural disaster, but the responsibility of managing the water of perennial rivers lies with the political and permanent executive only. Embankments were built to control the Kosi River coming from nepal towards Bihar. Now these embankments are being considered as a new problem because along with stopping the spread of water, they are also stopping the spread of silt. As a result, the river bed continues to rise. For efficient water management, politicians mustn't impose their opinions on experts.

Ganga, which starts its journey from Glacial Gangotri, enters the bihar plain near Chausa and after taking the waters of many tributaries, it enters Bengal, dividing the plain into two parts. Uttarakhand, the motherland of Ganga, is also struggling with the devastating effects of dams. The basic form of this mountainous state is formed by glaciers, snow ponds, bugyalas, and forests. Any kind of human interference in these brings disaster. Be it mountains or plains, soil, water trees, and plants not only affect human life and the environment but also have a huge impact on economic activities.

The crisis is right at our doorstep, but we are still blindly waiting for disaster. Nature has warned us many times in recent years, but we are not ready to learn the lesson. If we do not do something on this very important issue as soon as possible, disaster is certain.
