An ardent supporter of Ponmudi, one of DMK's senior ministers, he contested in the by-elections held in Vikravandi constituency in 2019 and failed.However, Ponmudi, who had faith in Bhujahendi's hard work, gave Bhujahendi another chance in the 2021 assembly general elections. Taking advantage of it, Bhujahendi won the general election and assumed responsibility as a member of the assembly.Meanwhile, it is said that Assemblymember Bhujahendi was suffering from liver cancer. But it is said that Pugahendi, who did not see it properly, continued to show seriousness in the work of the party and the work of the people. He was also actively campaigning for the lok sabha elections.Pugahendi also attended the campaign meeting attended by the chief minister at Villupuram last evening. After that, Bhujahendi suddenly fell ill and reportedly vomited blood.
