 “India has not yet sent any official information regarding the Kachchathivu issue. There is no such demand from India. If there is such a connection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of sri lanka will respond to it. As far as sri lanka is concerned, Kacha Island is under the control of Sri Lanka.” Sri Lankan minister Jeevan Thondaman explained.

Earlier, Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who met the media in Chennai, was asked what steps the bjp had taken in the last 10 years to recover Kachchathivu. He replied that he had filed a writ petition in the court.
