With the announcement of the lok sabha elections, the code of conduct has also come into force across the country. During the Code of Conduct, all licensed weapon holders have to deposit their weapons at the nearest police station. This process is also going on in Himachal Pradesh. So far, 34 thousand 412 licensees have deposited their weapons in the state. Chief Electoral Officer manish Garg has said that the election Department is ensuring strict adherence to every guideline to conduct the election process peacefully in the state.

Complaint resolved in just minutes

Chief Electoral Officer manish Garg said that given the election code of conduct, every activity in the state is being strictly monitored. He said that common citizens are also giving full cooperation in maintaining order in the state. The department is also receiving complaints related to violations of the code of conduct. According to manish Garg, 83 percent of the complaints received from march 16 to march 30 were resolved within 100 minutes. During this period, the average rate of resolving the complaint was 26 minutes 44 seconds. He said that the State election commission is paying attention to ensure that all the problems are resolved on time so that elections are held fairly and peacefully in the state.
