However, after this, in the 2019 lok sabha elections, the party again changed the candidate and made varun gandhi the candidate from Pilibhit.
In the 2019 lok sabha elections, varun gandhi had won this seat on bjp ticket by a margin of about 2.55 lakhs. But after this victory, varun gandhi started changing his tune. For a long time, he went against the party line and raised questions on many of the government's schemes. After which the round of speculations continued. But now after the arrival of BJP's list, the era of butchers has stopped. bjp has made Jitin Prasad, a minister in the yogi government, its candidate for this seat. This means that this will be the first time since 1989 that no one from the gandhi family will contest for this seat.
