Saharanpur Seat: Masood's Money Matters.!

Imran Masood, the former congress MLA from the muzaffarnagar assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh, is once again vying for the saharanpur Lok Sabha seat. Submitting his nomination papers on march 26th, Masood also filed an affidavit detailing his financial assets. According to the affidavit, Masood's annual income for 2023-24 is reported as Rs 2,95,270. However, previous years' income was not disclosed. His wife's income is stated as zero.

In terms of movable property, Masood declares having Rs 2 lakh in cash, while his wife possesses Rs 1,70,000 in cash. Additionally, Masood owns about 50 grams of gold valued at approximately Rs 3,25,000, while his wife's gold jewellery, weighing around 1 kg, is valued at Rs 65 lakh. Furthermore, his wife holds one kilogram of silver jewellery valued at around Rs 70,000. 


The total movable assets for Masood amount to about Rs 8,32,796, whereas his wife's movable assets tally up to Rs 77,55,052. Regarding real estate, Masood boasts substantial wealth with agricultural and non-agricultural land valued at approximately Rs 4 crore 34 lakh 15 thousand. In contrast, his wife owns agricultural and non-agricultural land worth Rs 33 lakh.


Masood's financial declaration also highlights legal matters, revealing that he data-faces seven pending cases. Of these, five are registered in saharanpur court and two in ghaziabad court.
