women voters will play a decisive role in four lok sabha seats in jharkhand because the number of women in the voter list there is more than men. The four lok sabha seats where the number of women is more than men include Rajmahal, Singhbhum, Khunti, and Lohardaga. These are all reserved seats for Scheduled Tribes.


Voting will be held in Singhbhum, Khunti and Lohardaga on May 13, while Rajmahal will be voted on june 1. There are 14 lok sabha seats in Jharkhand. Political parties, mainly bharatiya janata party (BJP) and 'India' (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) alliance partners have started planning to garner the support of women voters in the lok sabha elections.


The role of women is decisive in these seats

According to the voter list of jharkhand, the Khunti lok sabha seat in the state has the highest number of female voters compared to males. There are a total of 6 lakh 67 thousand 946 female voters in this constituency, while the number of male voters is 6 lakh 44 thousand 311. Khunti's seat is represented by senior bjp leader and Union minister Arjun Munda. In 2019, he had won from Congress's Kalicharan Munda by a slim margin of just 1,445 votes. bjp has again made him its candidate for this seat. ‘India’ alliance has not yet announced its candidate for this seat. Singhbhum is another tribal lok sabha seat, where the number of women voters is more than that of men. Out of a total of 14 lakh 32 thousand 963 voters in this constituency, there are 7 lakh 27 thousand 734 female voters and 7 lakh 5 thousand 167 male voters. The electoral contest in Singhbhum is going to be interesting as it has traditionally been the stronghold of the jharkhand Party and Congress. Both the parties have won from this seat five times each.
