Security tightened by Delhi police after implementation of CAA in the country

Reportedly after the implementation of the citizenship amendment act in the country, security has been increased in many areas of Delhi. Security has been tightened by the police in North east delhi, shaheen Bagh, Jamia and other sensitive areas. Officials said that policemen and paramilitary forces have also been deployed in some parts, while flag marches are being conducted in some areas. Deputy Commissioner of police, North east delhi, Joy Tirkey said that it is our responsibility to protect the safety of every person. He said that for the safety of citizens in sensitive areas, intensive patrolling and checking is being done by the policemen and paramilitary forces of North east District. The officer said that everyone is requested to follow the safety instructions and not spread any rumour.

Perhaps according to police officials, the cyber unit of delhi police is also keeping a close watch on social media platforms to prevent inflammatory posts and rumours. In 2020, there were communal riots in delhi over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and NRC (National Register of Citizens), in which 53 people died and more than 500 were injured in North-East Delhi.

Moreover according to the police, 43 hot spots have been identified in the North-East district. Where foot patrolling is being done. These areas include Seelampur, Jaffrabad, Mustafabad, Bhajanpura, Khajuri Khas and Seemapuri. DCP Northeast Joy Tirkey said that we have increased the night surveillance of paramilitary forces. No one will be allowed to violate law and order. Another officer said that delhi police has held about 29 meetings with members of the peace committee so that people "do not fall prey to rumours." The officer said that investigations will be carried out in several parts of North east delhi after more paramilitary forces were deployed in the district on Tuesday. And patrolling will be increased.
