EC declared Ajit Pawar-led faction as the 'real' NCP
Accordingly Sharad Pawar's reaction has come after the news of the return home of Nilesh Lanke, mla of Parner assembly constituency of Ahmednagar and who joined ajit pawar faction after the split in ncp, came to light. On ajit pawar faction leader Nilesh Lanke joining sharad pawar faction, ncp chief sharad pawar said, "I do not react to speculations." We are not in the business of being in touch with other leaders, but I know that many leaders on the other side (Ajit Pawar faction) are not comfortable.
Earlier in 2019, Nilesh Lanke was elected mla from Parner constituency of maharashtra on ncp seat. Lanke, a senior ncp leader, is known for his active participation in social work and development in his constituency. Ajit Pawar's group is expected to data-face a big blow with Lanka joining Sharad Pawar's group.
Moreover the split in the ncp occurred in July 2023 when ajit pawar rebelled against his uncle sharad pawar and joined the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra. After this, ajit pawar staked claim on the ncp party and then the matter went to the court and the election Commission. After this, the election commission (EC) declared the Ajit Pawar-led faction as the 'real' NCP. The election commission granted the name and election symbol of ncp to Ajit Pawar's faction, and also directed sharad pawar to come up with a new name for his political party. After this, sharad pawar faction got the new name and election symbol of the party.
