One Country One Election Plan in 2029: Law Commission Recommends to Central Govt!
If the same country holds a single election, people will have to cast three votes at the same time. One for the state legislature, another for the parliament and another for the local bodies. While arguments are made that holding elections in this way will reduce costs, practical problems are also pointed out.
If assembly elections are held along with parliamentary elections, various questions are being raised such as whether the party in power in the states will be dissolved before the end of its entire life and how the state governments will react to it.
Meanwhile, the Union Law Ministry has asked the National Law Commission to conduct a probe into the same election in the same country. Accordingly, the Law Commission asked the opinion of the public and political parties.
