Akhilesh Yadav put Congress through the 'trial by fire'...
From UP to Delhi, all the politicians were considering this alliance as a game changer on the basis of caste equations. But the result was exactly the opposite. bjp collected 50 percent votes in this election and got 62 seats in its account. BSP got 19.4 percent votes and managed to win 10 seats. Samajwadi party got 5 seats and got total 18.1 percent votes. congress got only 6.4 percent votes in the entire state. BSP had the maximum benefit in this election because it did not win any seat in the 2014 lok sabha elections. Whereas RLD was completely wiped out in 2019. Ajit Singh from Jat dominated seat muzaffarnagar and Jayant Chaudhary from Baghpat lost the election. bjp defeated RLD in mathura also.
Keeping in mind the results of 2019, if we look at the seats congress got from the alliance with SP, it seems that Akhilesh has handed over only those seats to congress where the equations are against his party. Now the thing to think about is that what will congress, which gets 6 percent votes in the entire state, be able to do on the seats where the main opposition party Samajwadi party is weak. The congress organization is not only missing on these seats, but the figures of the last few elections also tease the Congress.
