Who will guarantee the fairness of the electoral system?

The country is standing on the threshold of lok sabha elections. In such a situation, whose responsibility is it to reassure the citizens of the country on the questions arising regarding election credibility? Apart from being the prime minister of the country, as well as being a senior leader of the largest ruling party BJP, narendra modi should make every effort to maintain the trust of the common citizens in the entire electoral system and political parties. In this direction, the prime minister is most accountable due to the fact that the government is omnipotent in practice.

Along with this, the Chief election Commissioner should also come forward openly to remove every apprehension related to EVM malfunction. If there are allegations, there is a possibility of EVM tampering and data manipulation, then the responsibility and accountability of resolving the same lies with the Chief election Commissioner. In the parliamentary system, it should not be forgotten that whether it is the legislature, the executive or the judiciary or any institution formed under the Constitution like the election Commission, everyone's accountability is only towards the public.

Any democratic system's foundation is its voting process and system's fairness. This has a direct bearing on the rights guaranteed to citizens by the constitution. There have been two rulings by the supreme Court. On february 15, the supreme court rendered a decision regarding electoral bonds. This resulted in the declaration of the electoral bond scheme for political donations to be unconstitutional.

Subsequently, on february 20, the supreme court issued an order about the manipulation of the chandigarh Mayoral elections that were conducted on january 30. An attempt to destroy democracy was made to characterize Presiding Officer Anil Masih's acts in this as malfeasance.
