The SP chief had earlier said that he would join Rahul's Bharat Jodo Nyay yatra in Rae Bareli.
Moreover congress had issued a statement in Amethi last night saying that congress President mallikarjun Kharge will be present in Amethi during the yatra. Earlier, SP had offered 11 seats in Uttar Pradesh to the country's oldest party congress, while the state unit of congress has demanded more seats. State congress President ajay Rai had earlier said that his party should be given about two dozen seats where it had won in the 2009 lok sabha elections. Samajwadi party and congress are partners in the opposition 'India' alliance. congress had won the only seat of Rae bareli in Uttar Pradesh last time. There are 80 lok sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.
