The BJP's top leadership is well aware that supporting Chandrababu can instill optimism in both the party and the nda in Andhra Pradesh. In the past, the BJP's partnership with the tdp in andhra pradesh has also proven beneficial. bjp was unable to register an account in andhra pradesh in the Legislative assembly or the lok sabha in 2019, while tdp was not a member of the NDA. All of the bjp candidates' deposits from the assembly elections were also seized. In the 2019 lok sabha elections, the bjp ran for every seat in andhra pradesh, although its vote share was less than one percent. Five of the nine assembly seats that the bjp had won are now a part of Telangana. The bjp was also successful in gaining three lok sabha seats in this election. Of them, Visakhapatnam and narsapuram are in andhra pradesh, and one seat, Secunderabad, is currently a part of Telangana. The bjp had also failed to hold onto these two seats in 2019. Out of the present 25 lok sabha seats in andhra pradesh, the alliance won 17 of them in 2014 when the bjp and tdp ran together. Out of these, the tdp managed to secure 15 seats while contesting 21 seats, and the bjp managed to secure 2 seats while contesting 4 seats.The bjp was unable to secure any seats in andhra pradesh in the lok sabha elections held in 2004 and 2009. In contrast, the tdp helped the bjp win seven seats in 1999 with almost 10% of the vote. In the 1998 lok sabha elections, the TDP's ntr group in andhra pradesh worked to the BJP's advantage. With 18% of the vote at that point, the bjp had secured 4 seats. But in 2018, chandrababu naidu broke out from the nda coalition. It became challenging for the bjp to establish an account in the Legislative assembly and lok sabha in 2019 as soon as the tdp left Andhra Pradesh.
