Prime minister Narendra Modi, known for his critical stance towards opposition parties, particularly the Congress, has been cautious when it comes to making comments about constitutional institutions. However, a recent remark made by Modi regarding the supreme court during his visit to Uttar Pradesh has stirred attention.

Modi indirectly satirized the apex court, stating, "These days, in this age, even if Sudham gives rice to Lord Krishna, a PIL will be filed in the supreme court immediately, and there will be a verdict that Lord krishna is corrupt." The context behind Modi's unusual comment lies in a recent key judgment by the supreme court concerning Electoral Bonds. The judgment declared that donors to political parties must be disclosed, raising eyebrows as it directly impacts the BJP, the party receiving the highest donations through Electoral Bonds—introduced by the Modi government.

The verdict has prompted opposition parties to laud the supreme Court's decision, highlighting concerns over the BJP's stance on Electoral Bonds. It is worth noting that the judgment has sparked debates on the BJP's policy in this matter.

While Modi has refrained from openly criticizing constitutional institutions, his recent comments have fueled speculation about the BJP's response to the supreme Court's Electoral Bonds decision. As political parties navigate this development, the dynamics surrounding campaign financing and transparency in political contributions come under scrutiny.
