According to sources Lift and Escalator Act has been passed in Uttar Pradesh Assembly. On friday morning, Energy minister Arvind Kumar Sharma introduced the Lift Bill in the house, which the entire house unanimously agreed to establish. The Lift Act was passed during the afternoon session. According to this Act, it will be mandatory to have a lift operator at all places except domestic lifts.

Meanwhile according to the rules, for installing lift or escalator in any multi-storey building in the state, permission will have to be taken and registration will have to be done in the Directorate of Electrical Safety. After that the government team will inspect the spot to install the lift. Many conditions will be imposed during the audit, which will be mandatory to be followed. According to the rules, the lifts that will be installed now will be fitted with an "Auto Rescue Device". This means that if the lift stops due to electrical or technical fault, the door will automatically open on the nearest floor.

Perhaps according to the format, third party insurance will have to be taken, due to which in case of any accident, the victim will also be compensated. After the implementation of Lift Act in Uttar Pradesh, lakhs of people of gautam Buddha nagar and ghaziabad districts will get the biggest benefit. In fact, along with ghaziabad, there are thousands of lifts installed in hundreds of housing societies of noida, Greater noida and Greater noida West, which have no rules and regulations regarding their maintenance and management. For this reason, lift related accidents have become an everyday occurrence in these cities.
