Challenge to repeat demonstration in West Bengal and Odisha
Last time bjp was successful in winning 18 out of 42 seats in West Bengal. However, this time considering the strong position of mamata banerjee, it will not be easy for bjp to repeat that performance. To ensure that BJP's chances are not strengthened, mamata banerjee has already decided that trinamool congress will contest elections on maximum seats in West Bengal. He is not at all ready to give more than two seats to Congress.
The situation is the same for bjp in odisha also. Last time in odisha, bjp had won 8 out of 21 seats. Considering the political situation this time, it would be a big thing for bjp if it succeeds in repeating its previous performance in Odisha.
There is very little scope for increasing seats in Maharashtra
Similarly, in the changed political situation, it is not easy for bjp to increase its numbers in Maharashtra. Last time, while contesting elections with uddhav Thackeray's shiv sena, bjp had got 23 out of total 48 seats in Maharashtra. shiv sena had won on 18. In this way, nda got 41 seats from Maharashtra. This time, Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde faction and NCP's ajit pawar faction are with BJP. The other faction includes congress along with shiv sena (Uddhav thackeray faction) and ncp led by Sharad Pawar. In such a changed equation, there is no possibility of bjp being able to make a big jump on the previous figures of 23 even if it wants to. Along with that, it is almost impossible for nda to repeat the figure of 41 in Maharashtra.
