Supreme Court said on petition against the release of Anand Mohan

The case of release of Bihar's strong leader anand Mohan has reached the supreme Court. On which the court, while hearing on tuesday (06 February), said that anand Mohan will attend the police station every 15 days and will also submit his passport to the local police station. At the same time, the supreme court has also sought answers from the Central Government. The court issued a notice to the central government and asked it to reply within a week. The court told the lawyer appearing for the central government that this is the last chance to file the reply. Now the court will hear the detailed hearing of this case on february 27.

Who filed the petition against the release of anand Mohan?

In fact, the petition of Uma Krishnaiah, wife of late IAS G Krishnaiah, has demanded cancellation of the release order. He has said that anand Mohan had received death sentence from the lower court. The high court changed it to life imprisonment. Now anand Mohan was released after changing the jail rules.

What is the matter?

G Krishnaiah, the then district Magistrate of Gopalganj, bihar, was murdered in the year 1994. bahubali leader anand Mohan was accused of this. When this matter reached the court, the court found anand Mohan guilty and sentenced him to death. Later patna high court changed this death sentence to life imprisonment. After this, in the month of april 2023, the bihar government decided to release anand Mohan. The government had released anand Mohan on the grounds that he had spent 14 years in jail. Which has been opposed by the family of late IPS G Krishnaiah.
