Sources from delhi reported that AAP leader sanjay singh could not take oath as rajya sabha MP on monday 5 February. According to sources, the matter of oath never came before the Chairman for consideration. Sources in the Vice President's office said Sanjay Singh's swearing-in was not listed in the business of the house and no communication from the rajya sabha on the matter ever came for the consideration of the rajya sabha Speaker. Some aam aadmi party members met the Chairman and were briefed about the rules and procedures in force. Instructions have been passed by the house that until the Privileges Committee considers the report, the suspension of sanjay singh will remain in force.

Meanwhile let us tell you that aam aadmi party leader sanjay singh was given partial relief by Rouse Avenue Court. The court had allowed sanjay singh to come out of jail and take oath in the Rajya Sabha. On Thursday, february 1, sanjay singh had approached the court for interim bail petition. He had sought interim bail of 7 days, so that he could attend the swearing-in ceremony on 5th February. Also, be able to participate in the parliament session running from 5th february to 9th February.

However, advocate Rajat Bhardwaj, appearing for sanjay singh, said that the demand for interim bail is not being given much importance as the AAP leader will have to go to Sultanpur for hearing in another case filed against him on february 7. Instead of bail, he can only get permission to go and sanjay singh can take oath as rajya sabha member on 5 February. At the same time, ED also did not oppose Sanjay Singh's demand. However, the court rejected Sanjay Singh's interim bail plea and he was allowed to take oath only on february 5.
