BJP's performance in Lok Sabha ‘Eye on Tribal and Women vote bank’?

When talking about lok sabha, bjp had to wait a long time to win a seat for the first time in Odisha. For the first time, BJP's account was opened in odisha in the 1998 lok sabha elections. In 1998, bjp was successful in winning 7 seats by contesting elections in alliance with Biju Janata Dal. bjp won 9 seats in 1999. In the lok sabha elections, 2004 also, bjp won 7 seats.

Meanwhile after this, the impact of naveen Patnaik's departure was visible in the 2009 lok sabha elections. bjp could not win even a single lok sabha seat in odisha in 2009. bjp won only one seat in 2014. The true colors of bjp were shown in odisha on its own in the 2019 lok sabha elections.

Earlier before 2009, the main reason for BJP's hold and support base in odisha was the support of naveen Patnaik. After that the path of bjp in odisha became difficult. The top leadership of bjp paid a lot of attention to odisha after 2014. Due to this, BJP's performance in the state improved significantly in 2019. In the last five years, bjp has also implemented many strategies regarding Odisha. BJP's main emphasis is on tribal and women vote banks. 24 out of 147 assembly seats in odisha are reserved for Scheduled Tribes. The current President draupadi murmu is from Odisha. The decision to make him the President is also related to the political intentions of bjp regarding Odisha.

Hence despite all this, it will not be easy for bjp to break into the tribal and women vote banks. naveen patnaik is already running many schemes for women. They are also moving forward on the policy of giving 33 percent election tickets to women. It will not be so easy for bjp to defeat naveen Patnaik.
