CM Pushkar Singh Dhami held a press conference on UCC

Reportedly the committee constituted by the uttarakhand government to prepare the draft of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) handed over the draft documents to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami here on Friday. In a program organized, the chairperson of the five-member committee and former supreme court judge Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai handed over the draft of UCC to chief minister Dhami. State Chief Secretary Radha Raturi was present in the program. During this, apart from Justice Desai (retired), Justice Pramod kohli (retired), social worker manu Gaur, former Chief Secretary of uttarakhand Shatrughan Singh and Vice Chancellor of Doon university Surekha Dangwal were also present. A four-day special session of the uttarakhand assembly has been called from february 5 to pass the bill on UCC. The draft will also be discussed in the state cabinet before presenting it as a bill in the Assembly.

Furthermore in this regard, uttarakhand cm Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Uniform Civil Code bill will be introduced in the upcoming assembly session and will be implemented as a law very soon. We have always been determined to provide equal rights to everyone in the state by realizing prime minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Ek Bharat - Shrestha Bharat" and today we are taking this resolution towards fulfillment through UCC.

Moreover cm Dhami held a press conference regarding UCC in which he said that the committee that made UCC has given us the draft today, the committee had first started dialogue with the villages, the committee communicated at 43 places in the state, many scholars were in the committee. Work has been done, draft has been received in 740 page 4 volumes. He said that we will discuss this in the special session which is going to be held on 5th February. We will discuss in the House, this was our election resolution, we will come to power and implement it.
