As per report a controversial speech was made yesterday during friday prayers at Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi. City Mufti Maulana Abdul Batin Nomani made a controversial speech. Before friday prayers, Khutba or Takreer is given in mosques. In the Khutbah, messages are issued to the worshipers and other people present in the mosque.

Meanwhile amidst the controversy over starting the puja in the basement of Vyas ji and Bandi's appeal, about twelve hundred people had come to offer namaz in the friday prayers held today in the Gyanvapi campus. Before the namaz, city Mufti Abdul Batin Nomani spoke for about 20 minutes.

Moreover in his speech, Maulana Nomani fiercely targeted the Central and UP governments. Said, these days vindictive regimes are working in the country. A particular section of society is being targeted and atrocities are being committed against them. For the last few years, a particular section is being targeted. Their mosques and other places of worship are being targeted. He said that the courts are also giving arbitrary and hasty decisions without listening to us. Many cases are pending for years but in the case of Muslim places of worship, decisions are given within 2 days. We, the Muslims, are being targeted and harassed as per the agenda just for political gains. Maulana said that the basement of Vyas ji was arbitrarily opened and worship was started there. The court also did not listen to our side and ignored our objections. Force is being used against Muslims all over the country.
