Recently the budget session of parliament has started with the address of President Draupadi Murmu. During this, President Draupadi Murmu, while addressing the joint meeting of lok sabha and Rajya Sabha, informed the parliament about the achievements and policies of the current Modi government. This budget session, which started from january 31, will continue till february 9.

Meanwhile the current session of parliament is the last session of the current central government or rather the current nda government led by prime minister Narendra Modi. In simple words, this is the last session of the second consecutive term of the Modi government. In this respect, this is also the last session of the present lok sabha i.e. the 17th Lok Sabha. This session of parliament is very short compared to the budget session that is held every year. There is a special reason behind this.

We all know that the budget session is short in an election year. General elections i.e. lok sabha elections are scheduled to be held in April-May this year. Whenever there is an election year, the duration of the budget session is always kept brief. The reason for this is that in such a session the full budget is not presented, but an interim budget is presented. Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the interim budget on february 1. This will be the last budget of the second term of the Modi government. This will be the sixth time that Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be presenting the budget. This interim budget is special for another reason. This is the country's first budget in the new parliament building.
